For importers, type approval is a “necessary evil” that used to be a time-consuming manual process. The new digital solution, which includes fully automated case handling, gives users an answer in just a few minutes, without requiring the involvement of a case worker at the Road Safety and Transport Agency.

 

The digital system evaluates each case on the basis of relevant national and EU regulations as well as a wealth of digitally formatted expert knowledge gleaned from case workers’ experience.

 

Digital vehicle type approval with fully automatic case handling will be made available to users from January 1st, 2007, and will be mandatory from February 1st.
