The solution has a very high volume of transactions and integrates several central government agencies as well as all the Danish municipalities. It handles applications for and payment of compensation to employees in two situations:
- Absence from work due to an illness that lasts longer than two weeks.
- Absence from work due to maternity or paternity leave, which typically lasts up to six months.
The Resultmaker-based sickness compensation solution is used by the many employers who pay full wages during these kinds of absences. The employer is then entitled to compensation from the government. Employers have found that they get distinct benefits from using the electronic Resultmaker solution instead of the old paper-based system.
Based on the positive results achieved so far, the Danish government agencies involved in sickness compensation – including the National Directorate of Labor (Arbejdsdirektoratet) and Local Government Denmark (Kommunernes Landsforening) – recently decided to continue their investment in the electronic system.
A tender will be run in early 2007 for the continuation and expansion of the sickness compensation system, based on the experience with the current Resultmaker solution.
Resultmaker looks forward to being involved with more partners in the future as a result of the sickness compensation tender.
