Resultmaker has just taken over the role of primary technology supplier for the Danish business portal Virk.dk, which it established in cooperation with the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency (Erhvervs- og Selskabsstyrelsen) and Krak. On the horizon are several new jobs for public authorities that want to make their complex application procedures digital.
“It’s always nice when people pay back the money they’ve borrowed,” says Investment Director Poul Bukbjerg from Vækstfonden. “But in the case of Resultmaker, it’s particularly nice, because it means that our loan helped develop a unique and vigorous company right in the middle of the IT crisis.”
Resultmaker’s enterprise is based on a patent pending system for dealing with complex application sequences in a single procedure. For example, if a person wants to file an application for constructing a new building, Resultmaker’s system can collect all the necessary forms and documents and present them to the applicant in the relevant order and extent on the Internet.
"For a company with our type of product, it’s an advantage to have started up in Denmark,"says Resultmaker's founder and CEO, Kaare Nørgaard. “Resultmaker is a success because, in spite of the IT crisis, we held onto the vision of supplying intelligent, interactive help for lengthy processes on the Internet. Our first area of application falls naturally in the interface between public authorities on the one hand and companies and citizens on the other. Everybody wins when self-service via the Internet is increased. And in that connection, we’re lucky to be located in Denmark, because the Danish government is one of the most visionary in the world in this area.”
Kaare Nørgaard knows by experience that government agencies can be demanding customers, but in his opinion, this only helps to ensure the development of software products that are strong and highly competitive.
Repayment of the loan from Vækstfonden is just one step on Resultmaker’s way toward becoming a leading supplier of solutions for digital administration worldwide. But according to Kaare Nørgaard, it would not have been possible to get to this point at all without Vækstfonden's loan, which kept the company going until the first major customer had been acquired.
