The Danish Road Safety and Transport Agency’s two new initiatives on Vehicle Type Approvals will increase time savings in the transportation business. Minister for Transportation Lars Barfoed has no doubts about the effect: “ The Digital Vehicle Type Approval contributes to the fulfillment of the long-term stated objective of the Danish Government to reduce the administrative burdens with up to 25 % before 2010."
Knud Kristensen, Project Manager from The Danish Road Safety and Transport Agency, explains further: “This is another step in our process of digitalization. It will save both the customers and us a lot of time. Just the fact, that people don’t have to sende applications by mail, and we won’t have to send approval back by mail cuts off at least three days of the processing time.”
The Importers of cars will also have an advantage, since its now possible to obtain the Danish Registration without first being approved by Danish Car Inspection.
