The Danish government now has one common solution for calculation of maternity and paternity leave to support both employees and Human Resource Departments.

The legislative framework allows great flexibility in scheduling of the leave implying great complexity. This entails a comprehensive need for guidance.
The new calculator gives employees the possibility to simulate and plan their leave – pregnancy leave, maternity leave and paternity leave. Furthermore the calculator supposedly will cause and appreciable ease of workload on the HR staff concerning both guidance and reimbursement. Last but not least the calculator ensures that granted leave is correct despite the flexible and complicated rules.
The Customer
The State Employer's Authority is an agency within the Ministry of Finance.
The primary task of the State Employer's Authority is to administer the State's general responsibilities as an employer in the area of wages, pensions and personnel and management policy. The State Employer's Authority enters into collective agreements and other agreements with professional organisations representing the approximately 170,000 employees in the state sector, and provides guidance and assistance to ministries and agencies within its overall area of remit.
The State Employer's Authority develops and provides digital solutions within the personnel administration area.
The Solution
Resultmaker implemented a calculator for simulation and calculation of pregnancy, maternity, paternity and parental leave transforming the legislative framework into a guided and validated multiple choice process.
The calculator:
- Calculates actual/expected start and end dates for periods of leave.
- Calculates unexploited leave and pay right.
- Continuously summarises what choices have been made and the implications caused by them.
- Validates dates and choices, and guides the user ensuring correct planning of leave.
- Generates a complete summary of personal data for the parent, the expected/actual date of birth of the child, an overview of duration, all start and end dates for all periods of leave and an overview of exploitation of pay rights and start and end dates for pay right.
The solution is built in to the Resultmaker Process Designer™ and is executed on the Resultmaker Process Platform ™
